Exploring Lithuanian Businesses

Last week, the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in Denmark embarked on a fascinating regional visit to Mažeikiai and Akmenė, Lithuania. This insightful journey took us to the doorsteps of innovation, where we witnessed firsthand the dedication of Lithuanian businesses like NorDan UK Ltd, a leading manufacturer of sustainable windows and doors, and the Akmenė Free Economic Zone, encompassing the impressive VMG Group Mega furniture and façade factories.

Step Inside NorDan UK Ltd: Where Sustainability Meets Quality

Our first stop was NorDan UK Ltd, a leading manufacturer of sustainable doors and windows, primarily serving the Scandinavian market. Under the guidance of CEO Giedrius Žilėnas, we witnessed firsthand their commitment to eco-friendly practices and cutting-edge design. With an open invitation to receive proposals for new window and door needs, NorDan's dedication to customer satisfaction shines through.

Scaling Up Success: Exploring the Akmenė Free Economic Zone

Next, we journeyed to the inspiring Akmenė Free Economic Zone, led by CEO Lina Mockutė. Spanning an impressive 98.6 hectares, this expansive zone houses the VMG Group Mega furniture and façade factories, boasting a colossal 57,000 square meters under one roof.

Fueled by the latest technologies, innovation, and a staggering 130 million euro investment, the Akmenė Free Economic Zone envisions a future with 1,000 new jobs and a thriving community surrounding it. Witnessing their ambitious plans was truly inspiring.

A Day of Discovery and Collaboration

This regional visit, made possible by the Norwegian Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, was more than just a tour; it was a day of discovery, collaboration, and fostering connections. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from Lithuanian businesses at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. We look forward to future collaborations that bridge the gap between Denmark and Lithuania.
